Soul Mate. These two words evoke such passion, emotion and, most importantly, hope. Every person who has not made that extraordinary connection is on a constant quest for their Soul Mate. So much so that it is almost a cliche to say one is searcing for their Soul Mate.
But a true Soul Mate is a mirror, the person who shows you everything that's holding you back, the person who brings you to your own attention so you can change your life. A true Soul Mate is probably the most important person you'll ever meet, because they tear down your walls and energize your senses.
But I would argue that a Soul Mate does not necessarily last forever -nor do you necessarily only have one in a lifetime. Soul Mates can come crashing into your life just to reveal another layer of yourself to you, and then leave. Often, they will transform your life and set you on a deeper, richer path. They may possess your heart, then crack it wide open, which allows new light to shine on you. They may shake you up, tear apart your ego, show you your obstacles and addictions, make you so desperate and out of control that you had to transform your life, even introduce you to a spiritual awakening.
All this is possible because the Soul Mate operates from our very core....It's an inside job! The Soul Mate works on the inside and not blocked from the numerous walls we protect externally. Of course, it's not malicious, purposeful or even by design. This is a natural (and healthy) flow on our journey that helps challenge us to new heights. So, keep your heart open to your Soul Mate(s) --it is the greatest gift of life.
